Welcome to the unit and comic strip
主备人:
Teaching aims and demands:
To know the names of some outdoor activities.
To be able to talk about the outdoor activities in English.
Teaching steps:
Step 1. Leading
T: Can you tell me some outdoor activities you know about?
Which one do you like best?
Write outdoor on the blackboard. Encourage students to say out their own ideas.
Step 2. Presentation
Show some pictures of outdoor activities and ask :
Do you know these outdoor activities?
What other outdoor activities do you know?
Revise the words and write the new words on the blackboard: camping, cycling, skating, riding .
Make dialogues like this:
A: Do you want to go camping? B:
A: Who will go camping with you? B:
A: What kind of place /weather is good for camping? B:
A: What should people bring with them if they want to go camping?
Finish PartA and check the answers.
Step 3.Drills
Play the tape of Part B and repeat after the tape and pay attention to your pronunciation. Try to find out why like the two activities.
Amy loves horses and she really wants to ride one.
Daniel likes being outside, near beautiful lakes and hills.
Step4 Comic strip
Look at the picture and tell the students:
Eddie and Hobo are also doing an outdoor activities. Look at the picture and tell what it is. Help the students answer: They’re going hiking.
Listen to the tape and answer the questions:
Does Eddie like it?
What about Hobo?
Read the dialogue.
Step4. Homework:
Recite the dialogue and read Part B .
Finish the exercises.
