Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities: % Time Carry out a statistical analysis of past/future extremes in coastal (i.e. sea levels and waves) cluster events using tide gauge observations (starting from 1915) from the national tide gauge network and wave measurements from WAVENET, plus a 140-year (1960-2100) modelled time series of water levels and waves in Liverpool Bay. 60 Provide realistic cluster time-series of extreme sea level and wave events as boundary conditions for the XBeach model of Sefton coast. This could involve running models or alternatively just using data from existing hindcasts. 15 Regularly disseminate findings by taking the lead in preparing publication materials for refereed journals, presenting results at conferences, participating in workshops or exhibiting work at other appropriate events, and providing material for the project web site. 10 Collaborate/work on original research tasks with colleagues in
