Today I wish to draw your attention to the case of the Volvo’s acquisition of Geely Car company. Firstly, let’s see a short movie about the case .On March 28, 2010 ,Beijing time China Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Limited（Referred to as the Geely Group）and Sweden Goteborg ， Ford Motor，Signed the final purchase agreement，acquiring 100% of Volvo car company’s shares and the related assets（Intellectual property rights included）. The amount related in this acquisition is $1,800,000,000. Let’s begin with a short introduction of the two companies (1) Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is the only private car production enterprises among Chinas top 10. in auto industry. It was founded in 1986. After 20 years of construction and development, it has brilliant achievements in auto, motorcycle and car engine area for four successive years in top 500 Chinese enterprises 。（2）Volvo Car Corporation is a world famous luxury car manufacturer. It was founded in 1927, and headquartered in Goteborg with over 19,500 employees in the world. Volvo has set up a production factory and assembly line in Sweden, Belgium, Malaysia and China , a sales and service network in over 100 countries around the world ,has more than 2400 sales outlets。 As a well-known Chinese private automobile enterprise, Geely currently has the capacity to produce 300,000 vehicles annually. Volvo is a famous Swedish car brand. The brand is currently known as the safest car in the world. Data shows, Ford had spent more than $6,400,000,000 to acquisite Volvo 10 years ago. But since then, it has been trying to sell the brand to win cash and focus on other core brand. Geely chairman Li Shufu believes that the biggest sense of this acquisition is meant to make the Chinese automobile industry technology reach the highest level in the world ,especially in the aspects of safety, energy saving and environmental protection .technology. And this acquisition breaks the Euroup American and Japanese’s monopoly in
