The Research Progress of the Disposition Utilization of Seawater Desalination Brine 　　Abstract. Seawater desalination industry have effectively relieved the crisis of water scarcity. But it also generated lots of concentrated seawater， which could seriously upside the balance of marine environment. It is very necessary to control the discharge of seawater desalination brine. In this paper， the current methods and techniques of the disposition and utilization of concentrated seawater was introduced briefly， and the characteristics and states quo was summarized. 　　Key words： seawater desalination； brine； salinity； ecological balance 　　Introduction 　　Seawater desalination is a new advanced technology of freshwater producing and conservation. Corresponding plants are being constructed fast along the seashore all over the world. In recent years， the scale of seawater desalination is expanding rapidly. In China， desalination has entered the large-scale age， with the seawater desalination projects in the coastal areas of Zhejiang ， Hebei， and other sea board provinces [1-3]. It is expected that by 2015， the capacity of seawater desalination in China will reach 2.2 million to 2.6 million m3 per d. However， in the process of desalination， fresh water and brine are produced in half， which means there will be large quantity of brine discharged into the oceans. Furthermore， during the process of seawater desalination， chemical agents are delivered and new compounds are produced during the treating process. The high salinity and the products of desalination brine will cause serious influences on environment when discharged without disposition [4-7]. To make use of the brine can not only reduce the environmental implication， but also can get much economic value. 　　The government of China has published many strategies and policies to encourage seawater desalination and utilization. The treatment of seawater desalination brine and the comprehensive utilization of chemical
