Xxx-Xxx 20XX Shore Slate JUNIOR OFFICER SHORE SLATE PROCESS Welcome to the Junior Officer Shore Slating Process! Below is a consolidated summary of the opportunities available for post-Divo shore duty. Your shore billet will be assigned via a competitive slate process. When multiple officers request the same billet, billet assignment is determined through comparison of qualifications, FITREPs, and Commanding Officers’ inputs. Please note that MILPERSMAN 1300-302, Change 29 remains in effect. It states, “Members with more than three family members will not normally be assigned to accompanied overseas duty, including Alaska and Hawaii, unless a waiver is approved by the Regional Commander of the gaining command.” If you have more than three dependents and desire an accompanied overseas assignment, you should be prepared to be deferred to the next shore slate if your waiver is disapproved. In addition, officers listing “RJCSRB required” billets in their top six choices do so with the understanding that they will be expected to submit a RJCSRB contract within 14 days of slate notification of assignment to that billet. Failure to submit a contract will subject that officer to a re-slate. An officer red-slated (assigned to his/her #7 or higher preference) to a RJCSRB billet will not be required to sign a contract. ***You will need to provide your top 20 shore preferences.
