英语常用同义词辨析 1. adopt, adapt, acquire, accept adopt vt. 采纳、采用 adapt vt. 使适应 accept vt. 接受 acquire vt. 得到，获得知识(经验) 2. accident, event, incident 这一组名词都可表示“事件”，但 accident “事故”，多指意外的事件或偶然事件。如： a railway accident 铁路事故。 event “事件”，常指重大事件或历史事件。如： the ten chief events in the world last year 去年世界上的十大事件。 incident “事件”，既可指日常生活小事件，又可指引起国际事端的事件。如： an ordinary incident 日常小事， the Lugouqiao Incident 芦沟桥事变。 3. accomplish, complete, finish, fulfill 这四个动词都可作“完成”解。 accomplish 强调“完成”任务等的过程而不是方式。如：It took us 40 days to accomplish this work. 我们花了40天时间才完成这项工作。 complete 着重“完成”任务等的结果。如：She has completed the book.
