Have them to know we will learn something about dinosaurs and learn the new words “dinosaur” Listen to the tape and repeat the sentences they hear. Try to talk about dinosaurs in their own words Write the topic on the blackboard and tell them : “ We are going to learn about a very interesting topic. We are going to talk about some animals. They are called dinosaurs.” Show the pictures one by one in order. Then ask and answer: ⑴When did dinosaurs live? – Millions years ago ⑵Describe the dinosaurs with an adjective – huge , tall, strong ⑶Show the picture of Tyrannosaurus and introduce it: Tyrannosaurus rex used its long, sharp teeth to eat other dinosaurs. T. rex was big. ⑷Show the picture of Apatosaurus and introduce: Apatosaurus was longer and taller than most other dinosaurs. Its huge size protected it as it ate water plants and tree leaves. ⑸Conclude that some dinosaurs ran very fast, but some only walked slowly. Some could fly. Some dinosaurs ate grass and plants and some ate meat. But today there are no more dinosaurs. We can only find their bones underground. ⑹Emphasize we use the past tense in this paragraph because the dinosaurs time is in the past- long age.
