Emotions involve different body systems which arouse our parasympathetic and sympathetic system. Chronic activation of the nervous system (stress response) has both a physiological and emotional cost. Cumulative effects of multiple client problems lead to a deterioration of the professional’s coping skills and resiliency skills- esp. if symptoms go unrecognized.
