Two years service on the current Citizen’s Budget Committee has given me knowledge regarding issues facing our city. This knowledge, combined with my finance degree, allows me to analyze and evaluate city operations and programs. My private sector background allows me to find practical solutions while reducing taxpayer costs. What are the most pressing issues facing the city? Council oversight of the LOIS project has gone well. The project is looking like it will be completed on time and considerably under budget. What one project has the council tackled that you wish had turned out differently, and how would you have handled things to achieve your desired outcome? The WEB building continues to be a divisive issue, I would have sought voter approval of a General Obligation bond to fund the project after first defining a use and determining total cost. If the bond measure failed, I would have listened to the voters and not pursued the purchase. What is your position on environmentally sensitive lands? Our environment is important.
