Aims: 1. To comprehend the theme and main idea of the text and grasp Author’s perspective and focus.
2. To let the students master the use of several key words and useful expressions.
Focal points: 1. To acquaint the students with the type of writing—description and the essential elements of it: factors, features, etc.
2. To learn some grammatical items: -There be / -The –ed or –ing verb forms
- comparative degree of Adjectives and Adverbs / - the usage of conjunction words
Difficult points: 1. How to develop a piece of description?
2. To understand the paraphrases of some difficult sentences.
1) Let’s go back to dry land and take a future journey the other wayup instead of down.
2) You can have secret with each other that nobody else can tune in on.
Contents: 1. Presentation
2. Words and expressions.
3. Text explanation and illustration.
4. Speaking and listening.
5. Exercise.
