摘要 本文讨论了红宝石主要的五种矿床类型：产在大理岩中的红宝石矿床；赋存于含钙长石、蛭石和奥长伟晶岩中的红宝石矿床；产在强变质层状斜长岩杂岩体中的红宝石矿床；产在玄武岩中的红宝石矿床以及产在片麻岩、变粒岩、云母片岩中的红宝石矿床。 通过对矿床类型的分析得出，每个类型的矿床所产出红宝石的特征相似，但品质仍有差异：缅甸的抹谷、巴基斯坦的罕萨、阿富汗的吉格达列克以及中国云南哀牢山等矿床都属大理岩型红宝石矿床，所产红宝石颜色为玫瑰红色～红色，但是只有抹谷产出最顶级的“鸽血红”；泰国、柬埔寨和越南等地矿床属于玄武岩中的红宝石矿床，其颜色都是较深的紫红色、棕红色，但越南红宝石的颜色又要浅于泰国红宝石。 另外，本文还对不同产地红宝石的内含物特征进行了探讨，并得出了不同产地红宝石的鉴别特征：抹谷红宝石内有典型的“糖蜜”状色带和“补钉”状金红石针团块；孟素红宝石常见深蓝紫色核心，且在热处理后会有白色云雾体；泰国红宝石内有典型的“煎蛋”状图案；越南红宝石的特征包裹体是桔黄色三斜铝石ABSTRACT We discuss the five major ruby deposit types. By analyzing the characteristics of different deposit types, the distinct results can be concluded that the rubies form different deposits share the similarities but there are still differences in quality. The deposits in Mogok,Burma；Hunza, Pakistan；, Afghanistan and other deposits in Ailao Mountain in Yunnan Province, China are the ruby marble type. The rubies from which are colored in red or rose，but only has the top kind----“pigeon blood red”. The deposits in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam are the ruby deposits of basalt, the color of them are dark amaranth and reddish brown. But the colors of rubies produced in Vietnam are not as dark as that in Thailand. Besides, this essay also discusses the character of the containing materials of the rubies from different producing areas., and also concludes the distinguishing features of rubies from different producing areas: the rubies from Mogok are characterized in typical “honey-liked ” color zones and “godet-shaped” rutile gobbets; the rubies from Meng Hsu can be easily found the dark cyan core in them, and white mist can be seen after them been heated; the Thailand’s rubies have the typical patterns of “fried-eggs”; the Vietnam’s rubies are usually covered by the orange three inclined pseudo-boehmite; the rubies produced in Sri Lanka distinguish itself in its affluent colors; the rubies in Tanzania have the colorless rutile in them and have two shapes: the pin-shape and the dot-shape; the rubies from Yunnan Province have a plethora
