2013届高考英语二轮专题讲义阅读理解中词义猜测技巧NMET的阅读理解中，为了考查考生的词语猜测能力，命题者有意安排不超过3%生词的文章。着重考查考生利用构词法，或根据上下文联系，及考生已有的社会背景知识和生活常识来猜测生词含义的能力。为此，在平时的阅读训练中，应多训练猜测词义的能力，注重一些猜测词义的方法和技巧。 利用英语中的派生、合成、转化等构词法来猜测词义 1. 分解复合词 Using this technique many carmakers are racing to develop noise-killing system both inside and outside the car. 该句中的carmaker是由car（汽车）和maker（制造者）合成的词，即汽车制造商。而noise-killing则是由noise（噪音）和killing（杀）构成的，意为消除噪音的。又如： (NMET2001 C篇)Holidaymakers who are bored with baking beaches and over－heated hotel rooms head for a big igloo. holidaymakers一词是由holiday（假期）+make（制定；安排）+(e)r(......的人)三部分构成的，由此可以推断出词义为安排假期的人或度假者。 2. 利用前缀、后缀辨认词义： 1) 辨认前缀 Exhibition officials said that a person bitten （咬） by one of these snakes would need at least 800ml of an anti-poison medicine to be saved. 该句中的 anti-poison一词中的anti是一个前缀，意思是反对、抵抗、排斥，而poison是毒药，而anti-poison意思是抗毒素。 2)辨认后缀 One form of these is geothermal energy. 其中的geothermal一词，-al是个形容词后缀，表示......的，加在词根geo（地球）及thermo（热的）之后，整个词义是地热的。又如： (NMET 2002 B篇)And more often than not it is locally(本地)grown and seasonal, so it is more tasty. seasonal 和 tasty 分别由名词season 和taste加后缀-al 和 -y变化而来的，season意为季节，此处seasonal 当为形容词季节性的；taste意为味道，此处tasty 为形容词，意为有味道的。 1. 根据上下文内容来猜测词义 context）对有关信息进行有机的联想，理解生词的含义。如： )Gold is one of a growing number of shoppers buying into the organic trend, and supermarkets across Britain are counting on more like him as they grow their organic food business. organic food,所以全英国的超市才增加了organic food business, 以期有更多像Gold这样的人前来购买。因此，the organic trend就是指购买organic food 这样一种流行趋势。 2. 利用文中说明词义的同位语或定语等来猜测词义 or, that is, in other words，还有的同位语是以括号或破折号形式出现的。因此，考生可以在生词后面找到与该词意义相同的词。如： There are two types of fat : external fat (fat under the skin)and internal fat(fat inside the body wall). external fat是指皮下脂肪，而internal fat则是指体内脂肪。又如： Most of us tell much the same white lies, harmless untruths that help to save trouble. 该句中的harmless untruths是white lies的同位语。因此，可以猜测出white lies是无恶意的谎言之义。再如： The Chunnel, a tunnel (隧道) connecting England and Fr
