Feelings of worthlessness and thoughts of suicide or death are common. Major Depressive Disorder Chemical imbalances are leading cause of most cases of Major Depressive Disorder, which can be hereditary or from events in one’s life. Stressful events in life Causes Adults 18 to 45 years old are affected the most by this disease. 18 to 29 year olds tend to have longer episodes of depression than other age groups. Target Population Make patients happy. Prevent depression by showing patients the world is full of life and adventure. Treat depression with therapy in an exciting environment. Objectives Patients will be able to do anything on their own at the Mental Health Center. Patients who are at risk of suicide will be monitored and are limited to the therapy center. Patients will be treated through group therapy and one-on-one therapy with psychiatrists. Overall Plan Main Facility- 2,000,000 sq. ft. Adjacent facilities (three total)- 300,000 sq. ft.
