-Neo-patrimonialism -the government institutions, their heads and members, tend to prioritise their resource allocations and devise or bend their policies according to personal patronage networks -To explore the potential and limits of RBA in a highly repressive context. * * -By working with government, made full use of and further widened the democratic spaces made available through decentralisation -to create spaces conducive for people’s rights claiming -Used multi-pronged and process-oriented rights-based empowerment approach -to enhance people’ agency to claim their rights. -Did not conscientize people about government’s corrupt/rent-seeking practice that is hidden behind the democratic fa?ade of decentralisation and?that has caused land grabbing -Promoting thin social rights. * Government is not really committed But, ended up bringing more democratic spaces (ユーモア) * -Consensual domination: (Rulers try to bring about) Ideological dominance of the values and norms of citizens -(Through) Passive revolution: Acceptance of certain demands of citizens to prevent their hegemony from being challenged -(Here citizens need to engage) War of position: Battle at the level of consciousness and perception to overcome passive revolution * -Disaster map for requesting local government’s response to disaster-affected areas * * Quote—binding government to provide services that they can offer with their current resources and capacitites * -Government’s attempt to bring about consensual domination (ideological dominance) through passive revolution (acceptance of certain demands of citizens to prevent their hegemony from being challenged—delegating some power through decentralisation) -Also, did not conscientize people about these corrupt/rent-seeking practices. * -Opening up of democratic spaces by the NGO’s strategy to work with government People normally request local government’s intervention -These interventions place PPs in a better position to deal wit
