And the paradigm shift from irrigation and flood control to making ecologically healthy river in national policy of the river management seems inevitable. The Ministry of environment（MOE） set up as the first rank of task to make ecologically healthy and comfortable urban environment and for this purpose the MOE make efforts to use ecologically restored river as core ecological axis in the heart of a city. And for that reason, the MOE be aware that the action plan of restoring to ecological river is required as a core plan of basic water environment management plan which is the first rank plan for national water environment management. As mentioned above, The「10 year plan to make ecological river」was established as the action plan which indicate duty to carry out and index which inform level of success in the project of 10 year restoration of river to meet the diverse demands of the times related to ecological restoration of river. Hereupon, this article would like to introduce about the basic directions of ecological restoration of river in Korea and to show the detailed contents and the specific state of progress and the task to improve in
