Engine Removal Tips Clean the engine and engine compartment before beginning removal. Using an engine degreaser and pressure washing will remove the majority of engine and under-hood grime prior to engine removal. Protect the fuel injection and ignition system while cleaning by covering these components with a plastic bag and by not spraying directly on them.
