CHARACTERISTICS OF THE GENERAL CONVENTION FOR CO-ADVISING FOR THE DOCTORAL THESIS 1.1 The doctoral student and his or her research directors must sign a co-advisory convention that must then be approved by the appropriate authorities in each establishment. 1.2 The doctoral student must register at both university establishments and carry out his or her work, alternating in each institution. 1.3 The doctoral student pays his or her registration and tuition fees only to the university that he or she is attending. 1.4 The doctoral student works under the supervision of two research directors and must meet the requirements of the two institutions concerned, including scholarly activities and the examination of the synthesis. 1.5 The doctoral student prepares a single thesis that is defended at only one of the partner establishments, the identity of which will be determined in the convention. 1.6 The thesis jury is made up of five members: each establishment names two members to the jury including the thesis co-director, while the fifth member, who comes from the outside community, is jointly designated by the two parties.
