Help the students to use personal pronouns to describe what we do in a day. 2. Learn to use the simple present tense to communicate with others. Contents: Words and phrases: drawing, weekend, shop, at weekends, of course Patterns: I/ You/ We/They like sports. He/She/It likes sports. I/ You/ We/They don’t like sports. He/She/It doesn’t like sports. Do I/ you/ we/they like sports? Yes, I/ you/ we/they do. / No, I/ you/ we/they don’t. Does he/she/it like sports? Yes, he/she/it does. / No, he/she/it doesn’t. Main and difficult points: Different pronouns are followed by different verbs “to do”. Teaching Aids 1. Pictures (different kinds of sports) 2. projector Teaching procedures: Step I Revision Review something we learned in Reading. Step II Presentation 1. Show the Ss a picture of NBA stars. T: Look! Who are these men in the picture? S: They are basketball players. (Help the students say: They play basketball well.) (Bb) T: This is Yao Ming. He looks tall and strong. (Bb) 2. Let the Ss compare the sentences on the Bb. Pay attention to the verbs. 3. Show the Ss more sentences. ① He often watches TV in the evening. They usually go to school by bus.
