Filtering is done by a special filter paper. Penetration conditions of the special filter paper and the degree if purity not only depend on the fiber structure, but mostly on the sedimentation accumulating on top of the paper. This layer of sedimentation -depending on its consistency – serves as an additional filter with a different penetration factor and degree of purity. Impurities, consisting mainly of very fine grains, quickly clog the paper and limit the use of the fine paper for economic reasons. The higher the amount of coarse particles (metal cuttings), the more favorable the paper consumption.
