A Study of Effective Classroom Management in Primary School English Teaching 【摘要】课堂管理是促成有效教学最显要的因素之一。在中国,随着新课程标准的实施,关于课堂管理的研究在近年来受到了人们的广泛关注。英语,在中国作为一门外语,是从小学到大学的一门重要课程,而小学又是孩子获取英语基础技能的根本阶段。因此,基于布罗菲的教学理论,本文着重从:1)师生在课堂上的互动关系;2)有效的课堂组织;3)小学英语课堂纪律这三方面对课堂管理做了研究。在历史和当前有关这一领域的各种各样的研究成果的帮助下,再根据近距离的课堂观察结果,本文指出了在英语课堂中普遍存在的问题,并且在最后总结了有效的课堂管理技巧。 【关键词】课堂管理;师生关系;课堂组织;纪律 【Abstract】Classroom management is one of the most influential factors that contribute to the efficiency of teaching. In China, with the implementation of New Syllabus, the studies on classroom management have enjoyed extensive attention in recent years. English, as a foreign language in China, is a major subject from primary schools to university. And it is an essential stage for primary school children to acquire basic English skills. Therefore, based on Jere Brophy’s theory, a study of classroom management is carried out in this article from three aspects: 1) the interactive relationship between teachers and students in the classroom; 2) the effective class organization; 3) the classroom discipline in English classes in primary school. With the help of various historical and current researches in this field and the close class observations, some frequent problems existing in English class have been pointed out, and some valuable strategies for effective classroom management are summarized. 【Key word】 Classroom Management;Teacher-learner Relationship;Classroom Organization;Discipline 1 Introduction 1.1 Historical Background The studies on classroom management can date back from a hundred years ago, when various forms of educational reforms have been carried out all over the world. At that time, education has become a symbol of a country’s comprehensive strength.
