By doing the project, you will have a better understanding about unusual pictures and make an unusual picture of your own. Part A: Reading 1. Read the article about unusual pictures. Skim the text and answer the following questions: How many unusual ways to create pictures are mentioned in the passage? What are they? 2. Conduct a jigsaw reading in groups. Each group member may only focus on one way to make unusual pictures. Please complete the chart below. Type Things needed Way to make pizza faces different foods; camera; oven or microwave think about the pattern make a face with the foods on a pizza take a photo of it cook the pizza and eat it string pictures card; thin string; glue; crayon or pencil draw the outline on the card put the glue on the card put the string on the glue paint the string feather and shell pictures feathers; small shells; card; glue think about the pattern lay all the pieces out on the card stick them down 3D rubbish pictures Rubbish including plastic, aluminium foil, cloth and paper; strong paper card; glue put the rubbish on a card stick the rubbish onto the card paint the different parts rubbish prints a cardboard tube or old clothes; paint; card dip a cardboard tube or old cloths into paint press the painted rubbish on a card to make different shapes Part B 1. Read the passage again and discuss the following questions: What other things could be used to make art? How would you use them to make new art? 2. Discuss the eight questions in Part B in groups of four. Prepare your project. You need to write an article about unusual pictures. Present your project to the class. You may give comments or raise questions. Homework Read the passage in Part A on page 123 of the Workbook, then finish the written exercise in part B.
