It will run in this format for a 12 month period and be reviewed in 2010. 1. Enhanced Services All practices are expected to provide essential and those additional services that they are contracted to provide to all their patients. This enhanced service specification outlines the more specialised services to be provided. The specification of this service is designed to cover the enhanced aspects of clinical care of the patient, all of which are currently beyond the scope of essential services. No part of the specification by commission, omission or implication defines or redefines essential or additional services. The PCT reserves the right to amend or withdraw this enhanced service. 2. Introduction The specification for the provision of a Local Enhanced Service (LES) for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease was last updated in November 2007.
