Span the mobile device ecosystem History of MIPI ? 2003 Founded by ARM, Nokia, ST and TI. ? 2004 Intel, Motorola, Samsung and Philips join MIPI Board; Initial Working Groups and Investigation Groups formed. ? 2006 Scope of specifications framed for Mobile Terminal. ? 2007 First specs released focusing on display, camera, audio, physical layer and protocol stack. ? 2008 Membership exceeds 150 companies. ? 2009 Interop workshops held; new Working Groups formed; membership grows despite recession. ? 2010 Numerous MIPI-based products released to market. ? 2012 Toshiba joins Board as Promoter; Test Investigation Group and Sensor BoF created. A Growing Organization MIPI added 59 Adopters and 11 Contributors in 2013. MIPI Alliance published 8 new specifications in 2013 Membership Structure and Benefits MIPI Contributor Members MIPI Structure and Governance The 2014 MIPI Alliance Board currently includes a single voting seat for representatives from Intel, Nokia, Samsung, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba Corporation. The Board approves and directs Working Groups to evaluate or develop specifications to meet a specific interface requirement. MIPI Specification are drafted by Working Groups and approved by the Board of Directors.
