They incorporate various elements in innovative ways. The nature of their enormous popularity is regarded as Beatlemania. They achieved mainstream success in the United Kingdom in late 1962, with their first single, Love Me Do. Gaining international popularity and acquiring the nickname Fab Four, they came to be perceived as the embodiment of ideals of the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. Background information By 1970 they were beginning to pursue individual projects. In December of 1970 McCartney brought a lawsuit to dissolve The Beatles as a legal entity, and the group broke up.
