All friends to SHENZHEN We are very glad to participate the workshop on power Grid interconnection in Northeast Asia. Power grid interconnection is very important. Even in China, we need a big power network which is interconnected between different provinces. We need “electricity transmission from west to east” , because in some west regions, there are rich hydro resources.; the situation of china’s energy industry: In the next 10-30 years, we have to increase our energy supply at least 3 times. At the same time, we have to reduce the environmental pollution. But in China’s energy structure, coal energy will continue to occupy 50%. This great challenge will be an important factor in planning our energy policy and science technology programs which are different with U.S.A, Europe, Japan and other countries. We consider that electricity is a suitable for our purpose.
