How to finish the reading task quickly and correctly. 2. Learn how to get along with friends and how to help the friends when they are in trouble. Teaching methods Reading , discussing, asking and answering. Teaching aids A recorder，a computer and a projector． Teaching procedures and ways Step 1 Revision and lead-in T: Good morning／afternoon，boys and girds! Ss: Good morning／afternoon．Mr．，Ms．….! T: Last two periods, we talked about friendship. People love to make friends and develop friendships with others. Now I’ll give you some questions to check your understanding of the friendship: (1) How well do you get along with your classmates? (2) Do you think it is important to have a good relationship with others? Why? (3) How do you understand the concept of “frienship”? (4) In your opinion, what does a real friendship consist of? ( The teacher gives the students five minutes to talke about the questions and then ask some of them to show their opinions to the class.) Step2 Reading T: Now please open your books and turn to page 94. Read the passage A test of friendship which shows you the real friendship. After reading, please answer the following questions: 1. What happened to Ian on their way down the mountain? 2. After Ian fell, what decision did Jeremy have to make? 3. Why did the boys’ parents contact the local park ranger? 4. Why was it too dangerous to leave Ian alone? 5. How did Jeremy finally help his friend? ( Seven minutes later, the teacher asks the students to answer the questions one by one.) Answers: 1.
