Nowadays, various forms of media is the main way for public to obtain outside information. There is a widespread concern over the issue that should the media report more good or bad news. It is commonly believed that life would be better with more hopeful and inspiring news being reported. In their point of view, the media has a hand in shaping the world so that readers would be positively affected. Other people, however, differ in their opinions on this matter, they hold the idea that newspapers are not only a source of information they are also a commodity. The public tends to be drawn to awful news. This is to say, news editors have to report things that will attract the consumer’s attention.
