Department of Psychology, College of Humanities, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing 100083, P.R.China 【Abstract】 Objective To develop a Restoration Environment Scale-Chinese version. Methods Developing a draft scale first, and examining these items with 281 college students and adapting factor analysis; the final scale forms after the draft scale was revised. 327 college students were randomly selected to rate pictures of three environments using this scale. The Restoration Environment Scale-Chinese version was compiled and its psychometric indexes were examined. Results the Cronbach’s α of the total scale and three subscales were between 0.769 and 0.936, the split-half reliability of 0.695~0.903. The three factors of the final scale can explain the overall variance of 57.048%, and the correlation between subscales are lower than which between subscales and the total scale, with the former between 0.478~0.684，and the later between 0.724~0.943, which show that the construct validity is good ; Further analysis showed that the scale has good criterion validity. Conclusion The Restoration Environment Scale-Chinese version consists of three dimensions—Being Away 、Fascination and Compatibility 、Extent.
