T: Good morning /afternoon, class!
Ss: Good morning/ afternoon, Mr. /Ms…
T: Do you like music? Now let’s listen to some music to relax. Is the music soft and beautiful?
Ss: Yes. It is enjoyable.
Suddenly Teacher turns up to its full volume.
Ss: Terrible noise!
T: Yes, we call this much too loud music noise pollution. In this class we are going to listen to a radio programme about noise pollution.
Step II Listening: A radio Interview
Ss: Noise from road traffic, jet planes, jet skis, garbage trucks, construction equipment, manufacturing processes, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and boom boxes, to name a few, are among the audible litter that are routinely broadcast into the air.
T: Noise negatively affects human health and well-being. Can you name some problems cause by noise?
Ss: Problems related to noise include hearing loss, stress, high blood pressure, sleep loss, distraction and lost productivity, and a general reduction in the quality of life and opportunities for tranquility.
