Speaking: Talk about some endangered animals and our obligations. Main Lesson Aims (What do you hope the students will be able to do better after the lesson?)By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to Talk about the fact files about the endangered animals Can talk about the obligations with “We should/must/mustn’t…” - Understand our obligations.Evidence [How will you know that this has been achieved?]Learners will Know more about the endangered animals. Can retell the fact files which are talked about by other groups. Know about the obligations. Personal Goals [what are you trying to improve in your own teaching skills?]The students in my class often feel shy and they think it difficult to speak in class—I will try to provide a good circumstance to help them speak. Class Profile [size/age/level/ background /needs] 51 students, aged 13-15 years. (25 male, 26 female). Generally elementary level. 10 of them are relatively better than the rest while there are 8 students who hardly understand anything about English, even the instructions. Most of the students don’t always understand the instructions in English and they don’t participate actively even when asked. They feel very difficult in listening and speaking. Therefore, they need to be provided more chances to practice speaking. Rationale [How do the aims of this lesson help meet learners’ needs?)Students have covered reading, listening, grammar and more practice of Unit 5. They have got some ideas about endangered animals, especially pandas. However, speaking is always a hard job for them, especially for the weak students.
