There lies a garden at the back of the house.; 倒装句有两种：全部倒装和部分倒装。将整个谓语 置于主语之前叫做全部倒装；只将谓语的一部分（通常是助动词或情态动词）移至主语之前叫做部分倒装。英语中常见的倒装句有下列一些情况： 在疑问句中（除特殊疑问句中以疑问词作主语或修饰主语的句子）和There be结构中（如第1组例句）。;2. a. Only when the war was over in 1945 was he able to come back home. ; 含有否定意义的副词或连词如not, seldom, never, _____, hardly, not only等放在句首，常使用部分倒装语序（如第5组例句）。注意： not only ... but also在连接两个并列分句时，如果not only位于句首，则前一分句倒装，后一分句仍然用正常语序。如： Not only was the city seriously polluted, but also the streets were crowded. not until引导状语从句位于句首时，从句不能倒装，倒装的是后面的主句。如： Not until her son came back did she go to bed last night. ;6. a.
