In recent years, there happened many disasters, such as earthquake, tsunami, radioactive material leak(核泄漏) in Japan etc. . So it seems that the temper of climate is becoming worse and worse, which makes some people think of the film 2012. Does the year of 2012 really approach ahead of time? If so, it is too horrible. What’s your opinion about that? Do you think it is ridiculous to say that? Why or why not? Can you present your own idea within 60 words? ;【参考答案】 I don’t agree with the idea that the earth has approached its end. Firstly, although so many disasters happened in recent years, I also think it is a coincidence(巧合). We shouldn’t see them as a must. Then a destroying tsunami(海啸) followed. Now an explosion at a nuclear power plant(核电厂)—and the release of radioactive material—added to Japan’s sufferings. ; Areas of Tokyo usually crowded with office workers like sushi restaurants and noodle shops were eerily1 quiet. Many schools were closed. Companies allowed workers to stay home. All of these led to parts of Tokyo like a ghost town. “Look, it’s like Sunday—no cars in town, ” said Kazushi Arisawa, a 62-year-old taxi driver, “I can’t make money today. ”; Levels of radiation in Tokyo were just close to normal on Wednesday, which was little harm to people’s health, but that does little to allay2 public anxiety. “Radiation moves faster than we do, ” said Steven Swanson, a 43-year-old American who moved to Tokyo in December with his Japanese wife to help with her family business. ; He is staying indoors but is eager to leave. “It’s scary3. It’s a triple4 threat with the earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear radiation
