Tom said he would give me a birthday gift but he ______ . 【结论】以上转换后的句子都是省略句式, 其中包含单句省略, 如第4题, 并列句中的省略, 如第2题、第5题, 复合句中的省略, 如第3题, 与不定式有关的省略, 如第1题。;Ⅰ. 时间状语从句 在复合句中, 作时间状语的从句叫时间状语从句。 常见的引导时间状语从句的从属连词有: when, while, as, after, before, once, till, until, (ever) since, as soon as等。; 某些表示时间的名词词组和副词也可以引导时间状语从句, 如the (very) moment, the minute, the instant, every time, each time, (the) next time, the first time; immediately, directly, instantly等。有些关联从属连词也能引导时间状语从句, 如 no sooner . . . than, hardly . . . when / scarcely . . . when 等。 【名师点津】时间状语从句中通常用一般现在时表示一般将来时。; 一、as, when, while引导的时间状语从句 1)as强调从句与主句的动作同时发生, 具有延续意义。 as还可以说明两种正在发展或变化的情况, 有“随着”的意思, 表时间的推移。 *She sang as she walked. 她边走边唱。 *As years go by, China is getting stronger and richer. 随着时间一年一年过去, 中国变得越
