Methods An analysis was made to clinical data of 48 cases with birth defects, including the prenatal examination, the diagnosing time and the outcome of birth defect . Results Out of the 48 cases with severe birth defects, 20 cases in late duration of pregnancy were ultrasonically diagnosed positive; induced labor was performed to 10 cases, and 11 cases died within 7 days after birth. Conclusions The incidence of birth defects can be reduced by providing good health care for the pregnant, improving prenatal diagnosis and taking intervention measures on time.
