Methods Wistar rats were given via drinking water, 75mg / L arsenic trioxide for 6 months. Animals were killed 6 months, using differential centrifugation of rat liver mitochondrial extract, using spectrophotometry of serum of liver mitochondrial respiratory enzyme activity. The results of arsenic poisoning in rat liver mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) activity decline; serum glutamate dehydrogenase, ornithine carbamoyl transferase, arginase, adenosine deaminase, GU glutathione S transfer activity increased. Conclusion of chronic arsenic poisoning can lead to liver mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase and ATP enzyme activity decreased. Serum and liver cells and mitochondria increased activity of the serum, and further confirmed the arsenic poisoning of the liver cells and their role in mitochondrial damage.
