MethodsThe direct-vision comparison method was used to research the RP-HPLC fingerprint. ResultsIn the HPLC analysis, Radix ophiopogonis decoction could lead to comparatively high background of chromatogram.After extracting the decoction with ethyl alcohol, the background (base line) of chromatogram was obviously reduced. When using ethyl alcohol as the solvent of the extract, some chromatographic peak shapes became abnormal. ConclusionUsing aqueous solution of KH2PO4 as mobile phase of reverse phase liquid chromatography, water was the suitable solvent to the extract.
