Methods The thin-layer chromatography for qualitative identification of citric acid, using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determination of citric acid content column was: Dikma Kromasil C18 column (250 mm * 4.6 mm, 5 μ m); mobile phase as, acetonitrile -0.1% phosphoric acid 0.1% triethylamine solution (1:99); detection wavelength: 210 nm; column temperature: 25 ℃ ; flow rate: 0.6 ml * min-1; injection volume: 10 μ l. Results can be detected in thin-layer chromatography of citric acid, citric acid in the range of 1.04 ~ 10.4 μ g has good linear relationship (r = 0.999 9), the average recovery was 98.85%, RSD 0.37%. Conclusion The method was simple, fast, effective, sensitive, accurate and with good repeatability and recovery can be used as the preparation of citric acid in the qualitative and quantitative analysis.
