 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 12 Guglielmi detachable coil embolization of intracranial aneurysms [Abstract] Objective To investigate the Guglielmi detachable coil (guglielmi detachable coil, GDC) embolization of intracranial aneurysms method and effect. Methods May 2000 ~ October 2004, embolization of intracranial aneurysms in 15 cases, including 5 males and 10 females, aged from 20 to 68 years. Proximal internal carotid artery aneurysm in 5 cases, distal internal carotid artery aneurysm in 4 cases, anterior communicating artery aneurysm in 4 cases, basilar artery aneurysms in 2 cases. Aneurysm diameter of the smallest 5mm, maximum 31mm, all patients with GDC embolization materials. Results 100% embolism in 9 cases, 90% ~ 99% embolization in 4 cases, 70% ~ 90% embolization in 2 cases, clinical follow-up after 1 to 12 months, no case of rebleeding. Conclusion Endovascular treatment of aneurysms is a safe, minimally invasive and effective treatment methods, the use of GDC embolization materials, easy to operate, less surgical complications. [Keywords:] Aneurysm; embolization; detachable coil [Abstract] Objective To evaluate methods and effect of the endovascular embolization treatment of intracranial aneurysms.Methods 15 cases of intracranial aneurysms, 5 cases males, 10 cases females, age range 20 to 68 years.5 cases proximal ICA aneurysms, 4 cases distal ICA aneurysms, 4 cases ACoA aneurysms, 2 cases bifurcation of BA aneurysms. The diameter of aneurysms range 5 to 31mm. All patients were treated by using GDC embolization.Results 9 cases aneurysms were 100% occluded, 4 cases aneurysms were 90% ~ 99% occluded, 2 cases aneurysms were 70% ~ 90% occluded. Postoperational following up period is from 1 to 12 months, none of all patients rehemorrhaged.Conclusion Endovascular embolization of intercranial aneurysms is a safe, minimaly invasive and effective method to treat intercranial aneurysms. Using GDC is easy to operate and a low incidences of complication. [Keyw
