Infants and young children with multiple muscular ventricular septal defect surgery

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 8 Infants and young children with multiple muscular ventricular septal defect surgery Author: Flower in the Middle East, Jun Yan, Shi Yi, Fan Xiang-ming, TIAN Liang Xin [Abstract] Objective To report on atrial endocardial pathway and then a simple technology fix multiple ventricular septal defect surgery and the recent follow-up results. Methods Fu Wai Hospital from August 2006 to January 2009 used between the pump and then through the atrial endocardial technology pathway row with multiple cases of ventricular septal repair information and follow-up data. The results of eight children were carried out by the right atrial endocardial pathway of re-operation, avoiding the left ventricle or right ventricular incision. Age 3 ~ 27 (8.9) m, weight 6.3 ~ 14.5 (9.9) kg. All the patients were discharged and mean Qp: Qs of 1.07:1. The average follow-up time of 1 ~ 19 (15) m. 1 cases of children suffered from severe pulmonary hypertension re-admitted to hospital for treatment of pulmonary hypertension, the other children have a good recovery. All children were no significant residual shunt in ventricular septal defect. Conclusion Atrial endocardial pathway re-patch technique to avoid multiple stage operation with ventricular septal defect without ventricular incision, preservation of ventricular function, can get a good outcome. [Keywords:] multiple ventricular septal defects; of endocardium; infant and young child Abstract: OBJECTIVE To report surgical outcome and follow-up results of multiple muscular ventricular septal defects (VSD) using reendocardialization technique.METHODS Retrospectively analyze the admission record and follow-up data of the patients underging reendocardilaization procedure between August 2006 and January 2009. RESULTS 8 patients underwent the operation. The mean age was 8.9 (3-27) months with mean weight of 9.9 (6.3-14.5) kg. All the VSD were closed by trans-atrial redocardialization (TAR) technique. All patients recover
