Methods: Retrospective analysis from November 2004 to December 2005 in force under general anesthesia by intraperitoneal and preperitoneal laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair 184 cases (246 sides) of the clinical data. Results: The 245-side operation is successful, 1 patient transit open surgery. Seven cases occurred in patients with non-serious complications, accounting for 3.8%; average follow-up (90% of patients) 36 months, 1 patient (two sides) relapse, accounting for 0.54%, follow-up of patients without long-term discomfort. Conclusion: Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair security, a lower incidence of complications, recurrence rate is low, and a lower incidence of long-term chronic pain. [Keywords:] Hernia, inguinal; hernia repair surgery; laparoscopic surgery [Abstract] Objective: To investigate the methods of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, and evaluate its effect with regard to complications, recurrence rate, and late discomfort.Methods: A retrospective analysis was made on the data of 184 patients (246 sides) who underwent totally extraperitoneal prosthesis (TEP) or transabdominal preperitoneal prosthesis (TAPP) between October 2004 and December 2005.Results: Two hurdred and forty  five procedures were performed successfully, while one case was converted to open surgery.Complications were observed in 7 patients (3.8 %). The recurrence rate was 0.54%.
