Patients with carotid artery atherosclerosis plaque stability and the correlation of serum lipid levels

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 9 Patients with carotid artery atherosclerosis plaque stability and the correlation of serum lipid levels [Abstract] Objective To observe the different types of atherosclerotic plaques of carotid artery blood lipid levels and the relationship with plaque stability. Methods 70 cases with carotid atherosclerosis in patients divided according to ultrasonic plaque morphology and easy loss of plaque (vulnerable plaque, VP group of 30 patients and stable plaques (stable plaque, SP group, 40 patients, 50 patients without plaque who elect (NCP as the control group, lipid levels were measured. The results with and without plaque group, serum total cholesterol with plaque group (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) than those without plaque were significantly higher, were significantly different (P lt;0.05, compared with stable plaques, vulnerable plaque The serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) significantly increased, were significantly different (P lt;0.05. Conclusion serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) in the carotid artery sclerosis patients have significant changes, total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) associated with plaque stability in patients. [Keywords:] Carotid atherosclerosis, ultrasound, blood lipids ABSTRACT Objective To observe the blood lipid level changes in patients with different types of carotid atherosclerotic plaques and the correlation between blood lipid level and plaque stability. Methods According to the ultrasonographic appearance of the plaques, 70 cases with carotid atherosclerotic plaques were divided into 2 groups : Group VP (vulnerable plaques) (n = 30), Group SP (stable plaque) (n = 40), in addition, 50 cases with no plaque were grouped to be the Control Group; the blood lipid levels of all the cases in 3 groups were detected. Results The levels of TC and LDL C of Group VP and Group SP were of higher increase than those of Control Group whi
