METHODS: Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction detected 39 cases of malignant pleural effusion, benign pleural effusion in 16 cases the expression of hTERT gene. Results: malignant pleural effusion in hTERT gene expression was significantly higher than benign pleural effusion (P lt;0.05). Detection of hTERT gene expression of malignant pleural effusion sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy rates were 87.18%, 81.25% and 85.45%.
