 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 13 Proximal humeral locking plate in the treatment of fractures [Abstract] Objective To investigate the locking proximal humerus plate proximal humeral fractures in the application and clinical efficacy. Methods From August 2005 to October 2006, application locking plate treatment of proximal humeral fractures were 36 cases in which 13 males, 23 female, aged 35 to 70 years old, average 50.5 years old. According to Neer classification of fractures of the second part of the 13 cases, three-part fractures in 15 cases, four-part fractures in 8 cases. The results were followed up for 12 to 15 months with an average of 13.3 months, the fracture healing time was 7.6 weeks on average. According to Constant score, the fine rate was 88.9%. Conclusions of proximal humeral locking plate fracture is simple, fixed stability, fracture healing rate, fewer complications, especially for the humerus proximal fracture. The average age of patients was 50.5 years old (from 35 to 70 years old). According to Neer classification, 13 cases were two part fracture, 15 cases were three part fracture and 8 cases were four part fracture.Results All the cases were followed up for 6 ~ 26 months (mean, 13.3 months). The average bone union time was 7.6 weeks.According to the Constant scoring system, The excellent and good rate was 88.9%. Conclusion The treatment of the proximal humerus fracture with LPHP is simple and stable fixation, high bone union rate and few complications, especially for the complicated fracture of the proximal humerus.
