The env-i ronm enta l influences, disease types and d isease occurring m echanism s are analyzed. The concept and m ethod for the prevention and contro l of the diseases are recomm ended. D isasterm odes of tunne l porta ls are estab lished and the design param eters o f the portalw orks under the m ost unfavorable conditions are determ ined so as to prevent the d iseases from occurring; system atic engineering quality guarantee m easures are taken to avo id the porta l d iseases.
