The earthquakes in a cer tain area hav e a characteristic feature o f lo ng -rang e association before th occurrence of g rea t or modera te earthquake and it can be ex pressed by using seismic spa tially co rrela ted leng th. Prior to the Shanda n-Minle earthquake (M= 6. 1) w hich occurred o n Oct. 25, 2003 w e ana lyzed the phenomena of g row ing seismic spatial co rrela tion in several areas of Gansu and its nearby areas and obtained three seismic risk regio ns.
