Methods:Theexpressionsofc-MYC,LIN28,SOX2,KLF4,OCT4andNANOGin30RCCpatientsand5non-RCC patientsweredetectedwithquantitativereal-timereversetranscription-PCR(qRT-PCR).Thedatawereanalyzed 2 withWilcoxonsignedranksumtestandx test. Results:InRCCgroup,c-MYCexpressionwassignificantlyhigherinRCCtissuescomparedwithnormaltissues(P 0.05).TheexpressionlevelsofOCT4,KLF4,NANOGandSOX2weresignificantlylowerinRCCtissuescompared withnormaltissues(P0.05).LIN28expressionlevelwasnotsignificant.Nodifferencewasobservedwhenit comestoclinicalandpathologicalcharacteristicssuchasgender,age,tumorsize,cTNMclassificationand differentiationstatus(P0.05).Alsotheexpressionlevelsofallabovefactorswerenotsignificantlychangedin non-RCCgroup(P0.05). Conclusions:Thepresentanalysisstronglysuggeststhatalteredexpressionofseveralstemcellrelatedfactorsmay playdifferentrolesinRCC.C-MYCmayfunctionasanoncogeneandOCT4,KLF4,NANOGandSOX2astumor suppressors.
