Methods:CEACAM7andCEAexpressionwasdetectedbyimmunohistochemistryinconsecutivesectionsof345 subjectswithgastriccarcinomaandprecancerouslesions.Laserconfocalanalysiswasperformedtodetermine CEACAM7andCEAlocalization.CorrelationbetweenCEACAM7andCEAexpressionwithclinicopathological parameterswasstatisticallyanalyzed. Results:CEACAM7expressioncorrelatedwithpathologicgrading(P=0.006),Lauren’sclassification(P=0.023),and CEAexpression(SpearmanR=0.605,P0.001)ingastriccarcinoma.CEACAM7co-localizedwithCEA predominantlyinthecytoplasmicmembraneofcancerouscells.CEAexpressionwascorrelatedwithlymphnode metastasis(P=0.031).CEACAM7andCEAexpressionincreasedprogressivelyfromprecursorlesionstogastric carcinomas.AcombinationofCEACAM7andCEAexpressionwasdeterminedtobeanindependentpredictorfor patientswithgastriccarcinomabymultivariateanalysis(P=0.001). Conclusions:CEACAM7expressioncorrelateswithtumordifferentiationandCEAexpressioningastriccarcinoma. CEACAM7andCEAexpressionmaysynergisticallypromotegastriccarcinogenesis.CombinedCEACAM7andCEA expressionanalysiscanbeausefulpostoperativepredictorforpatientswithgastriccarcinoma.
