As the key factors in the engineering practice, the engineers responsibility and obligations are restrained by the ethics norms. If there is no ethics and professional standards, the engineering practice will deviate from the direction, and even restrict the development of the economy of our society. How to make the ethical norms play an important role in the engineering practice deserve our research. This study analyzes the research status and significance of ethical problems in the engineering practice, summarizes the research achievements of many experts and scholars, and explores the ethical characteristics and connotation of engineering practice. Ethical characteristics of the engineering practice show mainly as the diversity of the subjects and levels, and the profound influence. The ethical connotation of engineering practice mainly involves the issues of fairness and justice, openness and democracy, responsibility and obligations, loyalty and conscience, goals and risks.
