Abstract
Background:Post-hybridizationwashingisanessentialpartofmicroarrayexperiments.Boththequalityofthe
experimentalwashingprotocolandadequateconsiderationofwashinginintensitycalibrationultimatelyaffectthe
qualityoftheexpressionestimatesextractedfromthemicroarrayintensities.
Results:WeconductedexperimentsonGeneChipmicroarrayswithalteredprotocolsforwashing,scanningand
stainingtostudytheprobe-levelintensitychangesasafunc
