Abstrac:tObjective Tostudytheclinicalcharacteristic,stherapeuticregmienandoutcomeofsevereMycoplasma
pneumonia(MP)inchildren.Methods Clinicaldataof79 childrenwithMP, including69 mildand10 severecase,s
wereretrospectivelyanalyzed.The10 childrenwithsevereMPwerefollowed-up.Results InsevereMPcase,sthefever
durationpriortohospitalizationandthetotalfeverdurationweremoreprolonged, peripheralbloodleucocytescount,sC-
reactiveproteinanderythrocytesedmientationrateincreased, andserumIgMandIgElevelsincreasedascomparedtomild
MPcase.sOfthe10 casesofsevereMP, 4 manifestedaspumlonaryconsolidation, 4 aspulmonaryconsolidation
complicatedbymoderatetolargepleuraleffusionand2 asprogressivelyworseningpumlonaryradiographicfinding.sNine
severeMPcaseswereadministeredwithglucocorticoidaswellasantibiotic,sandthetherapeuticeffectwassatisfactory.In
theconvalescencestag,e bronchofiberoscopelavageswereusedin5 severecasesbecauseofpersistentpulmonary
